Job Description
This role focuses on material handling, shipping and receiving, and inventory-related tasks within a large aerospace manufacturing environment. You verify paperwork and work orders, follow detailed shipping instructions, perform kitting activities, and move product safely using material handling equipment. You also use a computer regularly to validate product information and update work orders and inventory records while communicating clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
Verify paperwork, work orders, and shipping instructions for accuracy before processing materials.
Perform kitting tasks by gathering, organizing, and preparing components and materials according to work orders.
Pick, pack, and prepare boxes for shipment, ensuring items are packaged securely and labeled correctly.
Handle shipping and receiving activities, including checking incoming materials, preparing outbound shipments, and documenting all transactions.
Load and unload materials and products safely, using push carts or pallet jacks as required.
Move product throughout the facility in a safe and efficient manner, following established material handling procedures.
Use a computer to validate product information, update work orders, and maintain accurate inventory records.
Support assembly-related material needs by ensuring required parts and components are available at the right time and location.
Maintain organized work areas in shipping, receiving, packing, and inventory zones to support smooth operations.
Communicate clearly in English with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
Follow all safety guidelines in the warehouse and manufacturing environment, including proper use of equipment and adherence to facility rules.
Stand for extended periods during the shift while performing material handling, packing, and inventory tasks.
Ability to use a computer proficiently for inventory management, product validation, and updating work orders.
Ability to read and write English clearly for understanding work orders, shipping instructions, and documentation.
Prior material handling experience, preferably at least 2 years.
Experience with packing boxes and preparing shipments.
Experience in shipping and receiving operations.
Ability to safely use push carts and pallet jacks to move product.
Capability to perform loading and unloading of materials.
Ability to stand for an entire shift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Experience with pick and pack processes in a warehouse setting.
Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
Exposure to assembly support and kitting activities.
Interest in gaining aerospace material handling experience.
Ability to adapt to evening and late-night shift schedules.

The position is based within a large aerospace manufacturing facility that operates structured warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory areas. You work primarily on-site and may be required to stand for the entire shift while performing material handling and packing tasks. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with initial training for a few weeks from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Work involves regular use of computers for inventory and work order management, as well as push carts and pallet jacks for moving products. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to established procedures appropriate for an aerospace manufacturing setting.
This is a Contract position based out of Middletown, CT.
The pay range for this position is $20.16 - $20.16/hr.
