Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Warehouse Worker to support daily warehouse operations and donor processing. This full-time role offers hands-on activities, training, and opportunities to mentor program participants in their work therapy development.

You will help maintain an organized warehouse, process donations, and operate standard warehouse equipment while following safety protocols. Join a mission-driven team that turns donations into community support.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move products to correct departments.
• Price merchandise according to guidelines.
• Track production numbers and complete reports.
• Maintain organized work areas and clean environment.
• Operate warehouse equipment as trained.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures.
• Assist donors with donation drop-offs.
• Complete donation receipts accurately.
• Collect and track donor information.
• Process various types of donations including clothing, household items, electronics, furniture and jewelry.
• May be trained to operate baler, compactor, forklift, elevator, and other warehouse equipment.
• Paid training on processing standards and warehouse procedures.
• Ongoing coaching and support from Warehouse leadership.
• Opportunity to build retail and customer service skills.

Pay: $14.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday days

What You'll Do

Warehouse Operations
