Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Des Moines, IA is seeking a dedicated warehouse associate to support hands‑on warehouse operations and mentor program beneficiaries in their work therapy development. You will load, unload, and move merchandise, price items, track production numbers, and keep work areas clean while following safety procedures.

Training is paid and benefits include health coverage and a 403(b) plan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Must read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Warehouse experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move products to correct departments
• Price merchandise according to guidelines
• Track production numbers and complete reports
• Maintain organized work areas and clean environment
• Operate warehouse equipment as trained
• Follow safety protocols and procedures
• Assist donors with donation drop-offs
• Complete donation receipts accurately
• Collect and track donor information
• Process various types of donations including clothing and accessories, household items, electronics, furniture and antiques, jewelry and collectibles
• May be trained to operate baler, compactor, elevator, and other warehouse equipment
• Paid training on processing standards and warehouse procedures
• Ongoing coaching and support from Warehouse leadership
• Opportunity to build retail and customer service skills

Pay: $14.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:40 hours per week. Monday - Friday days

What You'll Do
