We want all applicants to feel comfortable in a Christian environment. All staff participate in prayer and Bible study and should be comfortable with a lifestyle of prayer and worship integrated into daily work. Shift:

9 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday; 15 min morning & afternoon breaks, 30 min lunch break

Status:

Full Time, 40 hours per week

General Description:

Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries is a privately funded 501(c)3 non-profit, evangelical Christian organization dedicated to sharing the Gospel and assisting the homeless and impoverished. Every position is vital to our mission, and all employees must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

Essential Functions:
  1. Uphold and promote organizational culture based on grace, aligning with KGM’s vision and purpose.
Warehouse/Grounds:
  1. Follow policies and procedures.
  2. Manage warehouse: keep it neat and ensure supplies are stocked.
  3. Inspect donated furniture and appliances for contamination or infestations before acceptance.
  4. Check appliances for functionality before distribution.
  5. Sort donations and organize storage areas.
  6. Greet donors warmly, respectfully, and with gratitude.
  7. Issue donation receipts and record donor information.
  8. Maintain grounds, Art Park, and Lacrone Park water features.
  9. Clean appliances, furniture, and beds as needed before distribution.
  10. Daily cleaning of the lobby and removal of trash.
  11. Collaborate with clothing manager and assistants as needed.

  1. High ethical standards with sound decision-making skills.
  2. Strong organizational skills.
  3. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  4. Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions/Physical Factors:

Occasionally = 1%-33%; Frequently = 34%-66%; Continuously = 67%-100%

  • Frequently perform in-house duties and manage warehouse functions daily.
