Warehouse Supervisor

Directs and controls warehouse activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing packaging material and ingredients inventories. Executes the plans and schedules for the department functions to ensure the prompt delivery of merchandise of the kind and in the amount ordered. Staffs, organizes, and directs shift operations within the warehouse to effectively supervise the receipt, storage, selection, packaging, loading, and shipping of products to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Executes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
2. Ensures products and supply stocks are distributed and received efficiently, preventing shortages, downtime, or delays in start-up times or product changeovers. Participates on the floor at shift change to ensure proper handling.
3. Confers with department heads such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing to coordinate warehouse activities.
4. Prepares or reviews distribution documents.
5. Screens and hires warehouse personnel and issues work assignments for the 3rd shift.
6. Controls costs through personnel productivity, efficient utilization of storage space, and proper protection of stored materials.
7. Maintains records of inventories and locations for production control and cost accounting.
8. Enforces company policies regarding conduct and safety, initiating disciplinary actions through Human Resources.
9. Identifies causes of product losses and implements corrective actions.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Education: Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Experience: Typically requires more than 3 years of directly related experience.
• Ability to work additional days/hours as needed.
• Computer experience (Microsoft Office) required; SAP / MRP / WMS experience preferred.
