Job description

Directs and controls warehouse activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing packaging material and ingredients inventories. Executes the plans and schedules for the department functions to ensure the prompt delivery of merchandise of the kind and in the amount ordered. Staffs, organizes, and directs shift operations within the warehouse to effectively supervise the receipt, storage, selection, packaging, loading, and shipping of products to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Executes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
2. Ensures products and supply stocks are distributed and received efficiently, avoiding shortages, downtime, or delays in start-up times or product changeovers. Oversees on-floor activities during shift change to ensure proper handling.
3. Coordinates with department heads such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
4. Prepares or reviews distribution documents.
5. Screens and hires warehouse personnel; issues work assignments for the 3rd shift.
6. Controls costs through personnel productivity, efficient utilization of storage space, and proper protection of stored materials.
7. Maintains records of inventories and their locations for production control and cost accounting.
8. Enforces company policies on conduct and safety, initiating disciplinary actions through Human Resources.
9. Identifies causes of product losses and implements corrective actions.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education: Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Experience: Typically requires more than 3 years of directly related experience. Must be able to work additional days/hours as needed.

Computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; SAP / MRP / WMS experience preferred.
