Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for an Operations Leader 2nd Shift for Completion to join our Production team based in Mobile, AL.

As a member of the management team, you will manage, lead, develop, and engage a production team to meet time, quality, cost, and safety requirements. Drive continuous improvement and ensure effective communication within the team and key interfaces.

The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. On the shop floor, you’ll be surrounded by passionate individuals skilled in areas like electrical, structure, and quality. Join us to help build the next generation of aircraft.

Your working environment:

Located at the ‘Airbus Way’, the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft was opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015. It produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second line for the A220 in 2019. The facility supports Airbus’ strategy to enhance global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of customers in the U.S. and beyond.

Your Challenges:
  • Provide direction and supervise the progress of aircraft through the station.
  • Lead by example and ensure safety compliance according to OSHA regulations.
  • Lead the Autonomous Production team (APT).
  • Report progress and issues to management, and coordinate station activities.
  • Ensure availability of orders and materials to maintain workflow.
  • Identify and resolve problems proactively, fostering collaboration.
  • Engage with support teams to improve workflows and processes.
  • Develop workforce forecasts based on workload and skills.
  • Participate in achieving annual objectives like continuous improvement and quality gates.
  • Ensure work packages are completed within cost, quality, and customer expectations.
  • Manage aircraft documentation for handover and FOT.
  • Lead and guide improvement activities and collaborate with procurement.
  • Master performance management tools and processes, including physical updates and documentation.
  • Develop action plans to improve station performance.
Your boarding pass:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in aviation manufacturing or related fields.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in aviation.
  • Experience with quality and logistics rules in aviation manufacturing.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle complex information.
  • Experience leading international teams.
Physical Requirements:
  • Vision, hearing, speaking, equipment operation, carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, sitting, squatting/kneeling, standing, travel, walking capabilities as described.
