Job summary

Metrex in Michigan seeks a Warehouse Efficiency Specialist to optimize warehouse operations through WMS rule development, layout design, and slotting strategies. You will drive productivity, improve inventory movement, and cut costs by analyzing performance and leading cross-functional improvements.

The role requires strong data analysis, Lean/Six Sigma experience, and a track record of enhancing picking methods and space utilization. On-site role with collaboration across IT and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics, or related field.
• 3-7+ years of experience in warehouse operations, distribution, logistics, or supply chain optimization.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS); Oracle experience preferred.
• Proven track record of improving warehouse processes and efficiency.
• Experience with layout design, slotting optimization, and labor productivity initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current warehouse operations to improve productivity, throughput, and accuracy.
• Develop and implement best practices for receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methods.
• Configure, maintain, and optimize WMS rules and workflows.
• Design layouts to improve material flow, storage density, and labor efficiency.
• Analyze order picking and implement zone/batch/wave picking strategies.
• Collect data, create dashboards, and report KPIs to leadership.
