Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking an Operations Supervisor in San Diego to lead a team of hourly staff, ensuring daily tasks and customer service meet company standards and cost objectives. You will supervise processes, schedule staff and equipment, and participate in hiring decisions while enforcing safety and policy compliance.

Role includes early schedule (Tue–Sat, 4:00 AM–1:30 PM) with bonus eligibility based on performance and location results.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years related functional experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills required.
• Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Ability to drive process improvement and lead change.

Responsibilities

• Train and develop supervisors and hourly staff to meet customer objectives.
• Set and communicate measurable performance standards.
• Interview hourly associates and provide hire recommendations.
• Monitor attendance and productivity; coach as needed.
• Motivate and engage the team through recognition.
• Oversee logistics operations including customer service and dispatch.
• Conduct team meetings and evaluate methods to boost productivity.
• Provide relief coverage when others are absent.
• Maintain knowledge of site systems to ensure compliance.
• Complete records and reports accurately and timely.
• Align with customer goals and exceed expectations daily.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Plan work assignments for optimal equipment use.
• Ensure safe operation and training on equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment maintenance.
• Support additional projects as directed.
