Job summary

Vallen Distribution is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods. You will manage staff, optimize inventory, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance to meet company goals and customer satisfaction.

The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and effective communication. You will drive process improvements, supervise equipment, and contribute to budgeting and reporting within a fast-paced distribution

Qualifications

Education and experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, but an associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration is often preferred.
Strong leadership skills are essential for motivating and managing a team to achieve operational goals.
Problem-solving ability to address inventory, staffing, or logistics issues is crucial for smooth operations.
Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS), SAP, inventory tracking software, and databases is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with staff and external partners.
Strong planning and organizational abilities are needed to manage inventory, schedules, and workflows.
Forklift certification is often a preferred or required qualification; onsite training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Oversee the daily workflow of the warehouse, including receiving, handling, storing, picking, and dispatching of goods.
Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts; track shipments and reconcile records.
Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate warehouse staff; provide coaching and disciplinary action when necessary.
Establish and enforce safety procedures and security protocols to ensure compliance with regulations.
Implement and refine policies to improve efficiency, productivity, and flow of goods.
Maintain warehouse equipment and plan layouts to maximize space utilization.
Manage the annual warehouse budget and analyze variances.
Prepare reports on warehouse activities, KPIs, and inventory status for senior management.
