Job summary

OnTrac in Syracuse, NY is hiring a Warehouse Package Handler Lead to oversee offloading, loading, and sorting of packages. You will train new hires, support metrics, and uphold company values.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of industry and leadership experience, and the ability to lift 25–35 lbs regularly with heavier loads as needed. Must be 18+ and on-site at 101 Danzig Street.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of industry experience required.
• 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
• Physical ability to lift 25–35 lbs regularly; up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 150 lbs with a pallet jack.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe work environment by enforcing company safety protocols, including dock, conveyor, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Train and guide Package Handlers, providing hands-on demonstrations and ongoing performance feedback.
• Oversee package handling, sorting, and inspection processes to ensure accuracy, prevent damage, and avoid misroutes.
• Monitor equipment functionality, submit maintenance requests, and manage damaged freight according to company procedures.
• Check in/out third-party drivers, verify credentials, and ensure proper documentation and manifest accuracy.
