Job summary

Kenco Logistics in Portage, Michigan seeks a Warehouse Lead to coach and train warehouse teams, manage daily tasks, and provide backup to supervision. The role includes forklift operation oversight, safety compliance, and process improvements to support distribution operations.

The lead will train new associates, conduct PIT certifications, perform inspections, and ensure accurate paperwork and inventory accuracy in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.
• Minimum 2 years warehouse/distribution experience.
• 6 months leadership or supervisory experience in distribution.
• Must be a licensed forklift operator or able to obtain license.

Responsibilities

• Train new warehouse associates and forklift drivers; conduct PIT and annual recertification training.
• Coach and mentor teammates and provide coverage for supervisor as needed.
• Operate powered industrial equipment to move products.
• Complete shipping/receiving paperwork per SOPs and regulatory agencies.
• Participate in inventory/cycle counts and report variances.
• Perform daily safety inspections on forklift trucks; keep facility inspection-ready for SQFI, FDA, and customers.
• Communicate incidents to supervisor; ensure proper product rotation.
• Review daily production reports; back up other warehouse roles as needed.
