Job summary

Johnstone Supply is seeking a Material Handler I in Detroit, MI to receive, fill, and ship products with accuracy. You will operate forklifts, scan inventory, and ensure correct labeling while maintaining safety and order integrity.

Responsibilities include loading shipments, performing cycle counts, and paperwork compliance. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. OSHA safety guidelines apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 0–1 year related experience and/or training
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks

Responsibilities

• Operate power equipment (electric pallet, walkie rider, sit-down forklift) to locate and move products to storage locations.
• Receive product by unloading trucks using forklift or by hand.
• Verify shipments against packing lists and complete paperwork for discrepancies.
• Ensure bar code labels and stock numbers are readable and accurate.
• Pack and prepare orders for shipment and document the process.
