Job summary

Johnstone Supply, a leading HVACR distributor, seeks a Material Handler I to join our warehouse team in Howell, MI. You will receive, stock, and ship products, operate forklifts, and use RF scanners to ensure accuracy and safety in daily warehouse tasks.

Responsibilities include picking, packing, labeling, and processing shipments, while maintaining inventory integrity and adhering to MSDS and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 0–1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.
• Experience with a picker, forklift, RF scanner, and inventory management systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC wholesale industry, principles, and practices.

Responsibilities

• Operates power equipment (electric pallet, walkie rider, sit-down forklift) to locate, put away, stack, and move checked-in products to storage locations.
• Receives product by unloading trucks using forklift, pallet jack, or by hand.
• Ensures shipments are in good condition and accurate by inspecting freight, verifying quantities, and completing paperwork.
• Ensures barcode labels and stock numbers are readable and properly labeled.
• Fills orders by picking, packing, and labeling products for shipment.
• Documents hazardous material shipments by labeling and paperwork.
