Job summary

Johnstone Supply is seeking a Material Handler I in Florham Park, NJ. This role focuses on receiving, filling, and shipping products with emphasis on accuracy and safety. You will operate forklifts, use RF scanners, and work with inventory systems to ensure timely, damage-free fulfillment.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with some Saturdays and pays $17–$19 per hour. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and a willingness to obtain forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED. 0–1 year of related experience or training, or equivalent combination.
• Experience with a picker, forklift, RF scanner, and inventory management systems.
• Multilingual skills valued; English proficiency required for safety and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate power equipment (electric pallet, walkie rider, sit-down forklift) safely to locate, store, and move products.
• Receive product by unloading trucks using forklift or by hand.
• Inspect shipments for damage and verify against packing lists; complete paperwork.
• Scan products, print labels, resolve labeling discrepancies, and complete paperwork.
• Pack and ship orders; enter items into scan gun and complete paperwork.
• Document shipment of hazardous materials and ensure proper labeling.
• Prepare trucks for shipments; palletize and wrap orders; load trucks and complete paperwork.
• Participate in inventory cycle counts and follow SOPs.
