Job summary

Western Digital is seeking a Senior Supervisor for Wafer Manufacturing on B Shift (Sun-Tues with alternating Wed 5am-5pm) at the Fremont location. This exempt full-time role leads 30–45 operators across thin-film/photolithography processes, driving uptime, throughput and quality improvements.

The ideal candidate has deep wafer-process knowledge, SPC experience, and strong leadership. WD emphasizes Lean manufacturing, process optimization, and risk mitigation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of semiconductor wafer manufacturing processes and logistics.
• Familiar with Statistical Process Control systems and rules.
• Experience with Shop floor Control Systems (Mitec’s Camstar).
• Able to extract, summarize, interpret and present process data.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and DMAIC.
• Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Project Management applications.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• History of problem solving and driving resolution.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate between manufacturing, maintenance, process and equipment engineering for uptime and efficiency.
• Lead efforts to improve production of wafers and reduce downtime.
• Manage a department of 30–45 operators and leads toward goals.
• Coach staff, conduct performance reviews, and address performance issues.
• Promote Lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement.
• Address tooling or processing issues and implement changes as needed.
