Seagate Technology in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Wafer Sustaining Engineer to join the Recording Head Operations on D Shift (Fri–Sun and every other Thu, 4:00 pm–4:00 am). You will optimize and maintain manufacturing processes for R&D and Process Engineering, with training across JMP, MS Teams, and SharePoint, plus data analytics, to resolve daily factory issues and improve throughput.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Sound decision making and problems solving skills.
• Basic computer skills and presentation skills.
• BS degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily troubleshooting and evaluation of suspect wafers and processes.
• Work with process technicians, engineers, maintenance, and operations to resolve factory and product issues.
• Ensure proper passdown and process documentation and report status of key factory issues.
• Conduct SPC monitoring of tools and investigate scrap root causes.
• Provide technician, trainer and operator training for the manufacturing team.
• Review tool qualifications with equipment engineering.
