Job summary

onsemi is seeking a Wafer Fab Operator to join the Manufacturing Operations Team in New York area. The Manufacturing Specialist loads wafers, verifies specs, and monitors equipment to keep production on pace and within specifications.

The role includes a 6:30 PM–7:00 AM night shift on a rotating schedule with a 15% differential and a $1,500 sign-on bonus paid out over four quarters, subject to payroll taxes. Training and safety programs are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• English language fluency (written & verbal).
• Ability to work a 12-hour shift in a clean-room environment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and frequently move it over extended distances.
• Extensive standing and walking between various tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing tools to process high quality product.
• Work in a self-directed work team environment to achieve daily goals.
• Interface with computer systems to perform job duties.
• Responsible for operating tools to process wafers through the applicable stage in the manufacturing process.
• Make minor corrections or adjustments to the process and equipment and recognize when a technician or engineer is needed.
• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and programs.
• Perform multi-functional wafer fabrication processes and equipment operations.
• Obtain and maintain all required skill certifications.
• Utilize Lot Priority and other inventory management systems as required for product tracking and communications.
• Be an active member of the work team and assume a logistical role.
• Use SPC to audit control charts.
• Maintain equipment qualifications and status in the work area.
• Maintain and monitor all clean room protocols.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and participate in monitoring them.
• Use computer-aided manufacturing tools such as Workstream and Cold Fusion for communication, data recording and report extraction.
• May perform other duties as assigned by management.
