Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Systems Integrator to support and maintain a VR client infrastructure in Pittsburgh, PA. The role focuses on ensuring hosts are healthy, diagnosing server failures, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.

You will work with Linux environments, hardware troubleshooting, and network analysis, writing scripts to automate checks, and maintaining thorough documentation of problems and resolutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; preferred in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience with Linux systems and server hardware troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with command-line monitoring/diagnostics: top, systemctl, journalctl.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware failures: disk, memory, NICs.
• Experience writing basic scripts (Python, Bash) to automate testing/analysis workflows.
• Experience using tools like ping, traceroute, netstat, and Wireshark for network troubleshooting.
• Understanding of TCP/IP interfaces and bandwidth analysis.
• Performing hardware swaps and component isolation.
• Monitoring storage capacity and performance.
• Maintaining clear records of issues and resolutions.
• Communicating status and next steps to stakeholders.
• Experience with PCIe, DACs, and network interface troubleshooting.
• Experience with distributed or networked storage (NFS, NAS, SAN)

Responsibilities

• Weekly maintenance cadence: validate hosts and track unhealthy hosts.
• Diagnose server failures and troubleshoot the application stack to prevent degraded performance.
• Manage tasks and dashboards to monitor issue progress and resolutions.
• Contribute to test-suite run-book and share process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders, communicating findings and escalations as needed.
