Job summary

Calance is seeking a VR Systems Support Specialist in a hybrid Raymond, OH role. The contract position spans 24+ months, with onsite work four days a week and a 40-hour schedule.

You will monitor VR lab operations, validate software/firmware updates, and deploy approved changes across production VR environments while assisting end users and events.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of enterprise VR/AR/MR hardware and software experience.
• Experience with Varjo XR-4, Vision Pro, Vive Focus Vision, Quest 3 or equivalent.
• Experience with VR tracking systems (SteamVR Lighthouse, ART optical tracking, or similar).
• Knowledge of VR accessories configuration (tracking pucks, haptic gloves, motion controllers).
• Familiarity with Autodesk VRED, IC.IDO, Nvidia CloudXR, AV System Integration, Microsoft Teams Room, Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance checks on VR workstations, HMDs, tracking, and AV systems in VR arenas.
• Test software and firmware updates before deploying to production VR systems.
• Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and coordinate escalations with internal teams, suppliers, and vendors.
• Support users and VR events by gathering issue details and preparing systems for design reviews.
• Maintain documentation for maintenance, system status, procedures, troubleshooting, configurations, and meetings.

JOB DETAILS:

Position: VR Systems Support Specialist

Duration: 24+ Months (On-going Contract)

Location: HYBRID - Raymond, OH 43067

Pay Rate: $50.00 - $59.25 per hour (W2 ONLY)

** Must be LOCAL or willing to RELOCATE at your own expense **

HYBRID: Must be able to work ONSITE 4 days per week / HOURS: MON-FRI (40 Hours)

VR Systems Support Specialist will maintaining reliable VR/MR lab operations by performing preventative system checks, validating software and firmware updates, and deploying approved changes across production VR environments. The technician will also support VR events and end users, collaborate with the VR team and suppliers, and maintain clear documentation for system status, procedures, troubleshooting, and ongoing support activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Perform routine maintenance checks on VR workstations, HMDs, tracking, and AV systems in VR arenas.
• Test software and firmware updates before deploying approved updates to production VR systems.
• Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, resolve when possible, and coordinate escalations with internal teams, suppliers, and vendors.
• Support users and VR events by gathering issue details, following documented processes, and preparing systems for design reviews and engineering sessions.
• Maintain documentation for maintenance, system status, procedures, troubleshooting, configurations, cable standards, deployments, and team/supplier meetings.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• 1+ years of experience supporting VR/AR/MR hardware and software in an enterprise environment
• Experience with high-end VR headsets (Varjo XR-4, Apple Vision Pro, Vive Focus Vision, Meta Quest 3, or equivalent)
• Experience with VR tracking systems (SteamVR Lighthouse, ART optical tracking, or similar)
• Knowledge of VR accessories configuration (tracking pucks, haptic gloves, motion controllers)
• Software Platforms: Autodesk VRED, IC.IDO, Nvidia CloudXR, AV System Integration, Microsoft Teams Room, Python Scripting

DESIRED SKILLS:
