Job summary

Santander seeks a Vice President, Trade Floor Support Engineer in New York to provide high-availability technology support for front-office trading environments. You will work closely with traders, technology teams, and vendors to diagnose issues and deliver practical technology solutions in a fast-paced market setting.

You will lead end-to-end support for trading systems, perform proactive monitoring, and maintain documentation for incident handling and change management.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid response to technical and functional issues across trading applications and asset classes, including Bloomberg, Market Axxess, ION, and Murex.
• Work with traders and Front Office teams to understand business needs, diagnose issues, and provide timely support and practical technology solutions.
• Perform continuous monitoring and proactive troubleshooting to identify backend issues and risks to system availability.
• Provide end-to-end support for trading systems, including front-end and back-end issue resolution and coordination with owners and development teams.
• Investigate trader-related incidents and guide resolution with involved teams and vendors.
• Maintain ownership and clear communication across support groups and with Front Office management on SLAs and BCM planning.
• Engage application owners to assess planned changes that may affect trading functionality or availability.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure support documentation and troubleshooting procedures are current.
• Act as a trusted technology advisor and primary contact for Trade Floor technology matters.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, thin clients, VMs, and related hardware/software; support IP telephony and telecom equipment.
