Position Summary:

We are seeking a results-driven and strategic VP of Sales to lead our U.S. sales operations, expand into offline B2B channels, and build a high-performing sales organization. This individual will ideally come from a mid-to high office furniture manufacturer or a project-focused commercial furniture dealer (e.g., Workrite or similar), with experience handling mid- to high-end contract furniture projects and strong relationships within the dealer and retail community.

The ideal candidate can be National Sales Director or Director of Inside Sales and Customer Service under a W-2 employment model with experience in managing both W-2 and 1099 sales teams, and the ability to recruit and onboard independent reps. Experience with mid- to high-end commercial furniture projects is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and scale the national sales organization, including direct employees and 1099 contractors
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage a team of independent reps across the U.S., ensuring coverage by region and product category
  • Drive B2B furniture sales in offline channels, including retail chains, contract dealers, and commercial projects
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key accounts and large-scale project clients
  • Set and execute strategic sales goals by territory and vertical, measuring performance and adjusting tactics accordingly
  • Collaborate with the product and marketing teams to align go-to-market strategies with customer needs and competitive insights
  • Provide detailed reports on sales performance, team effectiveness, and market opportunities to the executive team
  • Participate in product development and pricing strategy to ensure competitiveness and margin optimization
  • Regular travel to client sites and showrooms (regional and national)

Candidate Requirements:

  • Current National Sales Director or Director of Inside Sales and Customer Service (W-2 status) with 10+ years of sales leadership experience
  • Proven track record in furniture or adjacent industries (office supplies, electronics, or outdoor equipment)
  • Experience working with or for mid-to high office furniture manufacturer or a project-focused commercial furniture dealer
  • Established network of 1099 reps, with a clear plan for recruiting and onboarding additional team members
  • Demonstrated ability to personally contribute to $5M–$20M in annual revenue
  • Experience leading sales teams contributing 10–30% of total company revenue
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and pipeline forecasting
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and strategic planning skills
  • Reside within 1 hour of a company showroom (NJ, Tracy, CA, Houston, or Chicago), the candidate should provide their address to verify
  • Stable personal background with demonstrated long-term career commitments (Are they stable marriage and how many kids?)

Preferred Background:

  • Experience with mid- to high-end commercial furniture dealers or project-based sales
  • Past involvement in launching or scaling U.S. offline sales channels
  • Experience managing multiple territories with complex sales structures
  • Strong industry contacts with commercial dealers and project managers
