ABOUT YOU

As the Vice President of Sales, you will be accountable for delivering sales revenue growth. You will manage, coach, develop the existing sales team of 15, and grow the sales team to meet future company goals. The Vice President of Sales will report to the General Manager, and work with Functional Resource Leaders (Solutions Architecture, Marketing, Operations, Service/Support, Engineering, Finance and HR) to identify requirements and manage execution of strategies to meet the needs of our customers within the business. You will drive the sales team to grow existing accounts as well as win programs at new accounts.

The ideal candidate will have a proven sales track record, history of successful sales growth, staff development and sales management. Previously lead a meaningful business similar in size, scope, and technology with a demonstrated ability to build a successful solutions selling organization.

While this position is remote, it would be ideal for you to be located in Minnesota, Southern California or Texas.

DURING A TYPICAL DAY, YOU WILL:

Business Profitability & Strategic Planning:

  • Deliver revenue and margin results consistent with business forecast and strategy
  • Lead the sales team to develop account plans and growth strategies
  • Engage at the most senior level of customer organizations to support new business development and growth within existing and new accounts
  • Collaborate closely with other department leaders, to ensure alignment to customer requirements while meeting the demand for quality and on-time delivery
  • Understand current and future customer base, industry, and customer needs to meet targets for profitable sales volume, market share, and other key financial performance objectives
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
  • Develop, execute and manage a sales plan, forecast and pipeline that supports overall growth and is aligned with company goals

Leadership & Employee Engagement:

  • Work closely with the ECS General Manager & CEO to understand the evolving vision and direction for the company
  • Develop people; grow leadership capability in our sales organization, provide leadership and a strong culture of accountability, personal development and performance
  • Learn and understand internal systems and process to drive sales strategy and accountability
  • Hold sales team accountable to deliver to sales plan targets
  • Partner with Human Resources to attract, retain, train, and evaluate sales talent. Lead and support overall employee engagement and related initiatives within the sales team.
  • Guide and train the sales team in maintaining customer relationships, negotiating and closing deals, and identifying and winning new customers
  • Lead change by assessing sales organization, championing initiatives, and removing obstacles while leveraging technology, training and resources
  • Demonstrate commitment to core values by leading, acting and behaving in a manner consistent with the company core values; Customer Success, Innovation, Collaboration, Owners Mindset, Do the Right Thing, and Accountability

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Prior sales leadership experience with a keen understanding of the core technology areas of ECS and a demonstrated success record that balances revenue growth, margin growth and prudent cost management
  • 10 years direct (outside) sales experience. Includes at least 5 years of experience managing sales staff with emphasis on selling technology solutions and/or services
  • Knowledge of, and experience with enterprise-wide selling of technology solutions
  • Solid knowledge of technology infrastructure, related requirements and associated product solutions including Cloud, Server, Networking, Liquid Cooling.
  • Proven sales management experience: taking a company from its current sales level to the next level
  • A history of measurable sales achievements: sales awards, quotas exceeded, etc.
  • Ability to take complex technical information/concepts and communicate them to customers, vendors and co-workers at the appropriate level of detail for the audience
  • Ability to thoroughly review, edit, negotiate, and execute contracts with internal and external resources with ability to manage legal issues and agreements with best business interests in mind
  • You are organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches
  • Must be available to travel up to 50%
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described to you for the position

HOW WE WILL MEASURE YOUR PERFORMANCE:

  • Deliver plan targets for revenue and margin
  • Attract and build a sales team able to execute the strategy
  • Work with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are exceeded
  • Existing account retention and revenue growth
  • New account acquisition and revenue growth

BENEFITS

The base pay range for this role is between $175,000 and $225,000 and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location, along with budgeted range of position.
