VP of Marketing & Communications
- Team: Marketing and Communication
- Reporting to: Spektrix President of US & Canada
- Location: Remote US or Canada – Working EST time zone. All team members are expected to attend key on-site events/activities 4 times per year, including onboarding, training, and team building. Travel expenses are covered by the business. Some travel to the UK is required.
- Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), typically Monday to Friday.
- Salary: $160,000-$200,000 USD, commensurate with experience and location. Canadian-based candidates: $150,000-$190,000 CAD.
The role
The VP/Director of Marketing & Communications is a strategic role responsible for ensuring effective engagement with the sector, clients, and stakeholders, aligned with business goals. It leads a talented team across the US and UK, adapting strategies to diverse regional markets and supporting growth, retention, reputation, and sector engagement initiatives.
This role emphasizes reputation and quality, supporting long-term client relationships and market positioning to enable business scaling and long-term investment in the company's reputation.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and execute marketing strategies aligned with business objectives, collaborating with sales, client success, product, and sector teams.
- Ensure marketing activities support growth, retention, and sector engagement, balancing long-term goals with reactive communications.
- Manage and mentor the Marketing & Communications team, fostering leadership and professional development.
- Create comprehensive marketing plans covering branding, messaging, campaigns, and go-to-market strategies.
- Manage budgets to maximize ROI.
- Design data-informed campaigns to support client acquisition, brand awareness, and retention.
- Oversee networking and sponsorship strategies to enhance reputation and market reach.
- Ensure the team is well-resourced and effective, including managing external agencies or freelancers.
- Optimize marketing technology stacks and ensure compliance with data policies.
Day-to-day activities
- Lead and support the Marketing & Communications team, fostering high performance and professional growth.
- Work globally, coordinating across time zones and building collaborative relationships.
- Maintain a balance between strategic oversight and hands-on involvement.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors to keep Spektrix competitive.
Key Requirements
- Proven success in multi-channel marketing strategies, including lead generation, product marketing, and brand awareness.
- Ability to translate company vision into actionable marketing plans.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Experience managing marketing campaigns across automation, social media, and alerts.
- Data-driven decision-making skills.
- Leadership experience in B2B marketing.
- Knowledge of technology industry trends.
- Experience leveraging partner relationships for visibility.
- Understanding of marketing technologies, CRM, analytics, and reporting tools.
