Job summary

The Children's Rescue Fund is seeking a Vice President of Information Technology to lead technology strategy and operations for 17 sites in the New York area. This hands-on executive role requires directing infrastructure, cybersecurity, and systems across the organization to support shelter operations and resident services.

Reporting to the COO, you will shape IT roadmaps, manage the IT team, and drive modernization while ensuring high availability and security for over 500 staff members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a strictly related technical field required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, systems administration, or IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or management position.
• Non-profit industry experience preferred, with demonstrated experience managing IT operations and infrastructure in a residential, shelter, or multi-site human services environment.
• Deep technical expertise in networking, communications, system platforms, database architecture, and enterprise cybersecurity frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the development, execution, and refinement of the organization’s IT roadmap across multiple sites.
• Provide technical leadership on evaluating, adopting, and integrating new technologies to drive efficiencies and modernize legacy systems.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the COO and executive leadership on technology deployments and risk assessments.
• Direct the design, implementation, and management of scalable IT infrastructure and web platforms across locations.
• Establish and enforce data backup, redundancy, high-availability, and disaster recovery plans.
• Oversee project lifecycle from planning to deployment, tracking KPIs for uptime and impact.
• Design and implement an organization-wide cybersecurity framework and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Recruit, develop, and lead the IT team for 500+ employees and foster collaborative culture.
