Job summary

The Building People, LLC seeks an experienced Vice President of Capture to lead our government BD and capture operations in Virginia. This hands-on executive role owns the capture strategy from opportunity identification through proposal submission, ensuring compliance and competitive positioning.

You will mentor capture teams, drive enterprise growth, engage federal agencies at the C‑suite level, and shape go/no-go decisions with data-driven insights and AI-enabled tools.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in biz development and capture within government contracting
• Proven track record of winning large federal contracts
• Deep knowledge of federal procurement processes and compliance
• Experience leading high-performing capture teams
• Executive-level engagement with C-suite stakeholders
• Experience applying AI in capture environments
• APMP or equivalent credentials preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the capture management and BD team
• Develop and execute enterprise-wide growth strategies
• Drive executive-level client engagement with federal agencies
• Oversee end-to-end capture planning, win strategy and solution design
• Manage competitive intelligence and go/no-go decisions
• Cultivate strategic teaming partnerships and expand capabilities
• Lead recompete programs and retention efforts
• Monitor pipeline metrics and capture performance indicators
