Job summary

Qualifications

• 7+ years in financial services with controls/audit/compliance/operational risk background
• Strong knowledge of mortgage servicing/origination processes and related regulations
• Ability to make independent, risk-based decisions with sound judgment
• Experience designing and operating control frameworks and escalation procedures
• Experience with control execution, risk assessments, process mapping, and testing
• Proven ability to lead issue identification, escalation, and remediation planning

Responsibilities

• Lead design, execution, and enhancement of controls across the mortgage lifecycle (originations, fulfillment, closing, servicing, default)
• Evaluate regulatory and operational risks within mortgage lending and strengthen the control environment
• Provide oversight for risk assessments, control evaluations, issue management, and remediation
• Partner with Compliance, Legal, Operational Risk, Audit, and Technology to address control gaps
• Support regulatory examinations, internal audits, and control testing with SME input
• Monitor risk indicators, industry trends, and regulatory developments to drive improvement
• Lead root cause analysis for control failures and oversee corrective actions
• Drive governance routines, executive reporting, and risk discussions for transparency
• Use data analytics, automation to anticipate trends and improve control effectiveness
• Strengthen resilience by prioritizing anti-fraud and cybersecurity controls in Home Lending
• Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team with a culture of excellence
