Job summary

Humana Inc is seeking an Associate Vice President, Model & AI Governance, enterprise leader responsible for the organization’s model governance and AI risk management. Reports to the Chief Audit & Risk Officer and partners with tech, data, clinical and compliance teams to ensure safe, ethical AI deployment.

This executive will establish governance, monitoring, escalation, and responsible AI frameworks across the enterprise, aligning with Humana’s risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in risk management, model risk management, AI governance or related fields.
• Experience leading enterprise-wide governance programs at an executive level.
• Healthcare industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of AI/ML, generative AI, and model development and validation.

Responsibilities

• Own and enhance the enterprise model governance framework from identification to retirement.
• Define model risk appetite, taxonomy, control standards and escalation.
• Provide challenge over model development, validation, and monitoring.
• Oversee the enterprise model inventory and ownership.
• Establish standards for model validation, bias, explainability and monitoring.
• Govern AI risk framework, responsible AI principles and governance processes.
• Set governance for external AI providers and foundation models.
• Lead governance committees and report risk exposure to executives and Boards.
