Job summary

The organization is creating a senior leadership role, Vice President, Membership and Communications, to recalibrate the membership and communications function; focus on growing and retaining members and deepening physician engagement across the region.

The Vice President will own the full membership lifecycle and oversee governance groups, program and event portfolios (including an awards program), and member communications and marketing across email, web, social, and publication.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in membership, physician relations, communications, association management, healthcare engagement, or nonprofit leadership.
• Experience supervising staff and managing budgets.
• Strong relationship-building, writing, and organizational skills.
• Comfort using data and AI tools to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full membership lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, engagement, retention, and re-engagement.
• Oversee membership-focused governance groups and annual program and events portfolio, including an awards program.
• Direct member communications and marketing across email, web, social, and publication.
• Partner with the Executive Director and affiliated state-level medical society on membership and physician engagement activities.
• Supervise and develop one team member; set annual goals, budgets, and performance reporting for membership and communications.
• Occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekend commitments related to physician events; limited local travel.
