Job summary

Banco Santander SA seeks a Vice President, Lending Solutions - Portfolio Management in the United States to lead portfolio management, credit monitoring and administration for SCIB lending portfolios.

The role requires deep credit expertise, risk oversight, and collaboration with Front Office, Risk, Legal, and Operations to drive a coordinated lifecycle management process. 7–10 years of relevant experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
• 7–10 years of experience in CIB portfolio management, credit analysis or related roles.
• Experience with credit spreading, covenant monitoring and portfolio reporting.
• Experience with spreading tools, covenant systems, loan systems and Excel; Loan IQ is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate and review quarterly and annual credit reviews for assigned portfolios, including performance, risks, covenants and collateral status.
• Perform or oversee credit spreading, financial analysis, and borrower performance updates.
• Support rating reviews, watchlist recommendations and exposure analysis.
• Monitor covenants, collateral, insurance and reporting obligations; manage post-close items and remediation.
• Coordinate with Agency, Legal, Operations and Servicing to ensure obligations are captured and maintained.
• Support amendments, waivers, extensions, restructurings through credit analysis and implementation tracking.
• Provide portfolio reporting, KPIs and KRIs for senior management and regulators.
• Mentor associates and drive continuous improvement in monitoring standards.
