GitLab, a remote-first technology company, is hiring a Principal Executive Recruiter to lead VP-level and senior leadership searches across corporate functions. You will partner with senior executives to identify, engage, assess, and hire leaders, shaping recruiting frameworks and talent strategies.

You will advise executives on hiring decisions, manage high-stakes negotiations, and own multiple confidential searches with discretion.

Qualifications

• Experience independently leading VP-level and senior executive searches.
• Executive recruiting across corporate functions such as Sales, People, Legal, Finance.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with C-suite executives and influence stakeholders.
• Skills in talent research, market mapping, sourcing, leadership assessment, and closing passive talent.
• Experience developing or improving executive search methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead VP-level and other senior leadership searches end to end, from strategy to closing.
• Advise C-suite executives on hiring decisions and navigate stakeholder dynamics.
• Develop talent strategies using market mapping and competitive intelligence.
• Build relationships with passive executive talent and connect opportunities to GitLab's priorities.
• Define success profiles and guide evidence-based hiring decisions.
• Own candidate relationships and manage compensation discussions and negotiations.
• Handle multiple confidential searches with discretion and urgency.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition leadership to improve frameworks and tools.
