Job summary

Welltower seeks a strategic, financially savvy executive to lead the enterprise risk management and insurance function. The Vice President will oversee risk strategy, global insurance programs, and captive structures, partnering with Legal, Finance, Investments, Asset Management, Operations and Development to protect assets and optimize risk costs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience in risk management with significant leadership
• Experience leading enterprise risk management and insurance programs
• Experience across property, casualty, professional liability, cyber, and specialty lines

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute enterprise risk management and insurance strategy aligned with objectives
• Establish governance frameworks to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks
• Advise senior leadership on risk, insurance strategy, and risk financing decisions
• Lead the Risk Management & Insurance team with governance, policies, and reporting
• Oversee design and management of insurance programs (property, liability, D&O, cyber, etc.)
• Manage broker/carrier selection, renewals, and complex negotiations
• Provide oversight of significant claims, reserves, and coverage interpretation
• Manage captive programs, risk retention, and financial performance
