Job summary

Welltower seeks a strategic, financially sophisticated executive to lead enterprise risk management and insurance. The Vice President will oversee risk financing, captive programs, and claims oversight, partnering across Legal, Finance, Assets, Operations, and Development to protect assets and optimize total cost of risk.

The role requires deep expertise in complex insurance structures, governance, and executive stakeholder management, with travel to multiple bases including NY, OH, and TX.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in risk management and insurance with leadership responsibility.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or JD preferred.
• Employment verified via background check and credentials.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute enterprise risk management and insurance strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Establish governance to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate material risks.
• Serve as executive advisor on risk, insurance strategy, and risk financing decisions.
• Lead the Risk Management & Insurance team and governance processes.
• Oversee design, placement, renewal, and administration of all insurance programs.
