Job summary

HITT Contracting is seeking a Vice President of Risk Management & Insurance to lead enterprise-wide risk, insurance, and claims functions. You will set the strategic direction for corporate programs, including OCIP/CCIP and the captive, and partner with Operations, Preconstruction, and Legal to mitigate project and enterprise risk.

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will negotiate with brokers and carriers, manage enterprise risk frameworks, and lead a team to optimize coverage and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, insurance, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in risk management, insurance, or related roles, preferably within construction.
• Proven experience managing complex corporate insurance programs including property, casualty, professional liability, and surety.
• Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or RPLU preferred.
• Strong ability to build relationships with brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for Risk Management, Insurance, and Claims functions across the organization.
• Set strategy for corporate insurance programs, including property, casualty, professional liability, and surety and bonding, and for broker, carrier, and underwriter relationships.
• Set strategy for Owner-Controlled and Contractor-Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP/CCIP).
• Oversee the company’s captive insurance program, including governance, funding, and coordination across operating companies within the holding company structure.
• Partner with Operations and Preconstruction leadership to establish project-specific insurance requirements and risk transfer approaches.
• Set claims strategy and escalation protocols to drive efficient resolution and minimize losses.
• Establish and improve the enterprise risk management framework, standards, and policies.
• Advise executive leadership on emerging risks and regulatory changes affecting insurance and risk exposure.
