Job summary

Welltower is seeking a strategic and financially sophisticated executive to lead the enterprise risk management and insurance function. The VP, Risk Management and Insurance will oversee global programs, risk financing, and claims oversight, partnering across Legal, Finance, Investments, Asset Management, Operations, and Development.

This role can be based in Toledo, OH, Dallas, TX, or New York, NY, and requires deep expertise in complex insurance structures, captives, and executive-level

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience in risk management and insurance.
• Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, business, law, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience leading enterprise risk management and insurance; healthcare/real estate experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the enterprise risk management and insurance strategy.
• Establish governance frameworks to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate material risks.
• Advise senior leadership on enterprise risk, insurance strategy, and risk financing decisions.
• Lead the Risk Management & Insurance team with governance, policies, and reporting.
• Oversee design, placement, renewal, and administration of all insurance programs.
• Manage captive risk financing strategy and financial performance.
