Job summary

Athene is seeking a senior sales leader to drive Defined Contribution private assets and guaranteed income in a national market. The VP Sales role requires a proven track record in retirement plan sales and deep relationships with DC advisors and recordkeepers.

A structured training program and cross-functional support are provided. Expect 70%+ travel across the territory, with a compensation package featuring a discretionary bonus plan and a base in the $200k–$275k USD range, depending on

Qualifications

• 10+ years in retirement plan sales or relevant experience.
• Established relationships with retirement plan advisors and recordkeeper teams.
• Strong command of advisor-led and recordkeeper channels; translate home office relationships to field opportunities.
• Knowledge of defined contribution market and ERISA fundamentals; ability to develop other capabilities (private assets or guaranteed income).
• Excellent one-on-one and group presentation skills; sound judgment; adaptable approach.

Responsibilities

• Own the annual territory sales target across Apollo and Vitera defined contribution offerings.
• Build relationships with retirement plan advisors and recordkeeper field teams; convert partnerships into local adoption.
• Develop and execute a territory plan with priority advisors, cadence, milestones, and measurable sales outcomes.
• Lead advisor education, field events, and finalist presentations; involve product specialists for depth while owning the relationship.
• Collaborate with Apollo's Global Wealth field counterparts to align coverage and win together.
• Coordinate with recordkeeper partners on meetings, campaigns, opportunities.
• Use CRM data, market intelligence, and AI tools to refine targeting and maintain pipeline discipline.
