Job summary

AXS seeks a visionary Vice President of Data Engineering to lead our global data engineering organization and own the strategy, architecture, and operation of platforms and pipelines powering personalization, analytics, and reporting across the business.

You will partner with senior leaders to define the roadmap, scale data infrastructure for high transaction volume, and ensure security, compliance, and cost efficiency while growing a world-class, distributed team.

Qualifications

• 13+ years in high-growth technology with leadership in data engineering or data platforms.
• Experience with consumer-facing, e‑commerce, or transactional data at scale.
• Proven ability to define and execute data platform roadmaps across multiple initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering strategy and architecture with CTO and senior leaders.
• Own roadmaps for data platforms, pipelines, and infrastructure across analytics, personalization, fraud, and reporting.
• Oversee scalable data pipelines (batch and real‑time) delivering reliable data across the business.
• Evolve data lake/warehouse architecture for high throughput, cost efficiency and reliability.
• Establish data governance, quality, lineage, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Build and empower a global data engineering team and foster a culture of innovation and learning.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Marketing, Finance, and operations to meet evolving needs.
• Drive operational excellence, KPI tracking, and process improvements to reduce downtime.
• Translate business goals into actionable data initiatives supporting growth and decision-making.
• Communicate progress clearly to CTO and senior leadership and manage budgets.
