Job summary

AXS is seeking a data engineering leader to guide the global data platforms, pipelines, and infrastructure that power personalization, analytics, fraud prevention, pricing, and reporting across the business. The VP will define vision, strategy, and roadmap for a scalable data platform, ensuring security, compliance, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 13+ years in high-growth technology.
• 7+ years leading data engineering or data platform teams at scale.
• Experience building and operating high-volume data platforms.
• Strong background with data stacks (warehousing, orchestration, streaming).
• Data governance, lineage, and security practices.
• Agile/scrum, KPI definition, and delivery at scale.
• Global, distributed team leadership.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Data Science, Product, Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define and advance data engineering strategy and architecture.
• Own the roadmap for data platforms, pipelines, and infrastructure.
• Oversee scalable data pipelines (batch and real-time).
• Evolve data lake/warehouse architecture for performance and cost.
• Enforce data governance, quality, lineage, and security standards.
• Build and empower a global data engineering team.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Marketing, Finance, and partners.
• Drive operational effectiveness and reliability.
• Translate business goals into actionable data initiatives.
• Communicate progress to CTO and leadership.
• Manage operating budgets and resources.
