AXS, headquartered in Downtown Los Angeles, seeks a VP of Data Engineering to lead the global data organization, owning strategy, architecture, and operations across data platforms, pipelines, and governance. This role partners with executive leadership to enable real-time analytics, personalization, and trusted data for Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations.

The ideal candidate drives engineering excellence, builds a world-class team, and ensures cost-effective, scalable data

Qualifications

• 13+ years in high-growth technology, including 7+ years leading data engineering or data platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and advance AXS’ data engineering strategy and architecture with executive leadership.
• Own the roadmap for data platforms, pipelines, and infrastructure for analytics, personalization, fraud, and reporting.
• Design, build, and operate scalable batch and real-time data pipelines ingesting, transforming, and serving data.
• Evolve data lake/warehouse architectures for high transaction volumes with cost efficiency and reliability.
• Establish data governance, quality, lineage, and security standards ensuring privacy and payment compliance.
• Build and empower a global data engineering team and foster a culture of innovation and learning.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to meet evolving analytical needs.
• Drive process improvements to increase pipeline reliability and reduce downtime.
