Job summary

AXS is seeking a visionary VP of Data Engineering to lead a global team responsible for the data platform, pipelines, and infrastructure that power personalization, analytics, pricing, and reporting. You will partner with senior leadership to define strategy, drive reliability, and scale data assets across the business.

Qualifications

• 13+ years in high-growth technology with 7+ years leading data teams
• Experience building and operating large-scale data platforms for consumer/e-commerce
• Proven track record delivering end-to-end data platform roadmaps
• Strong background in modern data stacks and cloud architectures
• Experience with governance, security and regulatory compliance

Responsibilities

• Define and advance AXS' data engineering strategy and architecture
• Own the roadmap for data platforms, pipelines and infrastructure
• Oversee design, build and operation of scalable data pipelines (batch and real-time)
• Lead evolution of data lake/warehouse architecture for performance and cost efficiency
• Establish data governance, quality, lineage, and security standards
• Build and empower a global data engineering team
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Marketing, Finance and Ops to meet analytics needs
• Drive operational excellence to increase reliability and reduce downtime
• Translate business goals into actionable data initiatives
• Provide clear updates to CTO and senior leadership
• Manage operating budgets and resources effectively
