AXS is seeking a visionary VP of Data Engineering to lead our global data engineering organization and own the strategy, architecture, and operation of data platforms powering personalization, analytics, and reporting. You will drive a scalable, secure, cost-effective data ecosystem in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Based in Santa Monica, this role partners with executive leadership to translate business goals into data initiatives, build world-class pipelines, and foster innovation

Qualifications

• 13+ years in high-growth technology with 7+ years leading data engineering teams.
• Experience building and operating high-volume data platforms for consumer/e-commerce/transactions.
• Defined roadmaps and scaled data engineering organizations successfully.

Responsibilities

• Define and advance data engineering strategy and architecture with senior leadership.
• Own roadmap for data platforms, pipelines, and infrastructure across analytics and reporting.
• Oversee design, build, and operation of scalable data pipelines (batch/real-time).
• Lead evolution of data lake/warehouse architecture for performance and reliability.
• Enforce data governance, quality, lineage, and security standards.
• Build a high-performing global data engineering team and culture.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Marketing, Finance, and partners.
• Drive operational excellence, reduce data downtime, and improve delivery.
