Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a VP of Data Platform & Engineering to own the data substrate across pillars and own the engineering motion that ships trusted data products.

You will replace bottlenecks with a real deploy regime, define gold-certification by code, and run the platform as a portfolio of data products with clear domain contracts. This role partners with the CDO to elevate data governance, security, and observability across the company.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering, data platform, or infrastructure; track record building data products and teams from zero to one.
• Strong command of data contracts, medallion-style quality architecture, and promotion discipline.
• Deep data-security judgment: least privilege, trust boundaries, and access control.
• Fluency with AI-assisted and agentic engineering as a primary way of working.

Responsibilities

• Own the substrate under every other data pillar and define the deploy regime.
• Build and run the platform as a portfolio of data products with clear contracts to domain teams.
• Lead data security, governance, and least-privilege enforcement across platforms.
• Stand up observability to understand platform behavior and health.
• Manage data engineering ICs and build reusable data tooling.
