Job summary

WiseCode LLC is a fully remote, full-time role seeking a VP of Data Platform & Engineering to own a portfolio of data products and set standards for AI-native engineering practices. You will lead the development and deployment processes to enable rapid, high-quality delivery.

You will manage data security and governance, enforcing least-privilege access and operational excellence while shaping policies for data contracts and medallion architecture across the data platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform, or infrastructure with team leadership.
• Proven experience in building data products and leading teams from inception.
• Expertise in data contracts, medallion architecture, and promotion discipline.
• Strong understanding of data security principles, including trust boundaries and access control.
• Fluency in AI-assisted engineering practices and strong SQL skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and implement a deploy regime that enables engineers to ship without bottlenecks.
• Define and enforce gold-certification by code for data quality and governance.
• Oversee data security and governance, ensuring least privilege access and operational excellence.
