Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a VP of Software Engineering to unify multiple platforms into a single modern architecture, adopting an AI-first, cloud-native approach. You will lead a global, agile engineering organization and drive the Product Operating Model transformation, staying close to customers to translate insights into valuable technology.

You will mentor leaders, improve delivery metrics, ensure platform reliability, and guide architecture, security, and data privacy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS/engineering.
• 15+ years in software engineering with 8+ years in senior leadership.
• Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams.
• Experience with Product Operating Model adoption and AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and roadmap to unify products into a single platform.
• Embed AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and value.
• Build a global, agile engineering organization and drive product operating model shift.
• Mentor engineering leaders and ensure leadership continuity as teams scale.
• Establish data-first metrics to demonstrate value and health of the platform.
• Own platform reliability, uptime, security, and incident practices.
• Guide architecture decisions, including build-vs-buy and security prioritization.
• Collaborate with Product Management to align roadmaps with customer needs.
• Define data privacy guardrails with Security, Legal, and IT.
• Report engineering health and modernization progress to executives.
• Partner with Customer Experience to ensure customer support readiness.
• Manage budget, vendor decisions, and workforce planning.
