Job summary

State Street is seeking a visionary Head of Corporate Functions Engineering - VP to build and scale a centralized engineering organization serving HR, Legal, Internal Audit, Global Security, Realty, and other corporate functions.

The role requires leading a strong, globally distributed team with expertise in software, AI, data engineering, and platform enablement. You will drive modern engineering practices and produce resilient, scalable solutions that accelerate business priorities.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, technology delivery, or platform engineering.
• 8+ years of leadership experience managing large technical teams and complex engineering organizations.
• Strong technical knowledge of software engineering, cloud platforms (AWS preferred), AI and automation technologies, data engineering, and platform engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision, strategy, and operating model for Corporate Functions Engineering.
• Build scalable engineering capabilities supporting multiple technology portfolios and business functions.
• Drive adoption of modern software engineering principles, tools, and delivery practices.
• Partner with technology leaders to improve execution, engineering maturity, and delivery outcomes.
• Establish measurable objectives focused on quality, productivity, innovation, resiliency, and operational excellence.
• Lead enterprise development standards, reusable frameworks, and engineering best practices.
• Promote cloud-native development, API-first design, microservices, event-driven platforms, and DevSecOps.
• Lead AI engineering and data platform initiatives across Corporate Functions.
• Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent globally.
