ShiftKey, based in Irving, TX, is seeking a VP, Controller to lead the accounting organization and own the end-to-end numbers. The role manages an established team and processes, focusing on a fast, audit-ready close rather than building from scratch.

You'll oversee monthly close, internal controls, and audits, partnering with senior leadership to drive scalable, disciplined financial operations in a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• CPA required.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience with senior leadership exposure.
• Deep technical accounting and US GAAP knowledge.
• Openness to using AI in accounting workflows.
• Track record of improving processes, controls, and systems at scale.
• Strong ERP experience.
• Strong executive presence and cross-functional partnership.

Responsibilities

• Lead controllership: General Ledger, AR, vendor disbursements, Tax, and Treasury through a director/manager team.
• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting and monthly close; accelerate speed and cleanliness.
• Support audit readiness and external audit processes.
• Partner with AR and product teams to resolve payment reliability issues on the marketplace side.
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting policies; promote financial discipline.
• Drive process improvements and automation in accounting systems and AI tools.
• Collaborate with senior finance and revenue leadership to identify risks and guide key business decisions.
