Job summary

Synergy Search is seeking a VP, Controller for a fast-growing, multi-site healthcare services organization. The role reports to the CFO and oversees a 60–80 person accounting team across multiple entities, requiring strong technical accounting judgment and credible leadership.

Responsibilities include leading the monthly close, driving standardization and automation, and supporting acquisitions and integrations.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience in public or corporate accounting.
• Big Four or large regional public accounting background preferred.
• Active CPA license preferred, not required.
• Healthcare or multi-site services industry experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
• Excellent communication and executive presence; comfortable engaging with non-financial stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead through growth, change, and organizational scaling.

• Develop, communicate, and enforce financial reporting policies and internal controls.
• Ensure timely, accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting deliverables.

Our client is a fast-growing, multi-site healthcare services organization backed by a large strategic partner. The company supports independent physician groups with financial and operational infrastructure and has grown significantly through both acquisition and organic expansion in recent years.

Position Summary

The VP, Controller is a senior accounting leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This individual will oversee a large accounting organization of approximately 60–80 professionals, with several direct reports managing distinct functional areas. The role requires a leader who combines strong technical accounting judgment with the presence and communication skills to build trust and credibility across a rapidly scaling organization.
