Job summary

RailWorks is seeking a VP & Controller to bridge corporate accounting and field operations, ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls. You will oversee multi-project finance, JVs, and the full project lifecycle from bidding to completion.

The role requires 7+ years at senior level with CPA preferred, North American cross-border experience, and the ability to train and manage a distributed finance team. Remote-friendly with national scope.

Qualifications

• 7+ years senior-level finance or accounting experience
• CPA is a plus
• North American cross-border experience preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP, SOX, budgeting and cost controls
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports

Responsibilities

• Acts as financial liaison between corporate accounting and field operations.
• Oversees monthly, quarterly, annual closes and forecasts.
• Manages site accounting for multiple projects and JVs.
• Ensures internal controls and regulatory compliance (GAAP, SOX).
• Leads annual budgeting and staff performance evaluations.
• Trains and manages accounting staff across locations.
