Job summary

Chase in Wilmington, DE, seeks a Vice President, Card Portfolio Risk Strategy to lead first-line risk strategies that govern appetite, drive profitable growth, and strengthen credit performance across the card lifecycle.

You will collaborate with product, risk, legal, and finance teams to shape credit policies, define models, and monitor performance, delivering executive-ready analysis and governance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
• 7+ years of experience in direct-to-consumer lending, originations, or retail credit in a large financial services organization (required).
• Strong judgment in evaluating credit risk and approving policy (required).
• Excellent quantitative and qualitative finance and analytical skills (required).
• Strategic thinking with execution capability and ability to identify opportunities (required).
• Experience collaborating across teams and lines of business (required).
• Experience developing executive-level presentation materials and briefings (required).
• Initiative with a track record of achieving challenging goals and entrepreneurial leadership (required).
• Advanced degree (MBA, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related) is preferred.
• Experience in credit card portfolio management and lifecycle actions is preferred.
• Experience with model development teams on scorecards and policy models is preferred.
• Knowledge of U.S. consumer credit regulatory expectations is preferred.
• Strong data fluency with SQL, Python, SAS, or similar tools, and building reporting routines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define the credit box in partnership with product, Finance, and risk teams.
• Assess expansion opportunities and define execution plans for new credit initiatives.
• Establish reviews and processes for strong execution against credit assumptions and risk appetite.
• Define variables for new credit models and interface with the modeling team on the roadmap.
• Recruit, coach, and develop talent for the Card Credit Decisioning team.
• Develop metrics and lead performance monitoring reporting to senior leadership.
• Contribute to policy and strategy development, including risk frameworks and credit policy.
• Maintain governance and controls through documentation and monitoring.
• Collaborate with risk, underwriting, legal, and finance to balance growth and risk.
