Job summary

Engine is seeking a founding VP to lead AI Platform, defining technical strategy and scaling the organization. You will own core rails—LLM gateway, agent framework, and evaluation infrastructure— guiding multiple Applied AI teams and engineering at large.

You will build a single enterprise-wide stack, hire senior engineers, ensure security and cost controls, and partner with executive peers to align across functions. This role offers strong equity and a hybrid/remote work model.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software or platform engineering with leadership experience.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams or orgs.
• 8+ years building platforms or infrastructure used by multiple teams.
• 3+ years hands-on with production AI/ML including LLMs and agents.

Responsibilities

• Own AI Platform core: LLM gateway, agent framework, prompt and agent libraries, and evaluation infrastructure.
• Improve developer experience and Velocity program to shorten delivery cycles.
• Define AI Platform operations, automation, and PDLC instrumentation.
• Develop shared APIs, orchestration, and integrations for enterprise use.
• Oversee AI data infrastructure, retrieval and RAG pipelines, agent memory, and telemetry.
• Ensure security, observability, and cost controls for platform AI.
• Scale the platform org with a Director and senior engineers.
• Collaborate with the Triad: Senior Directors of Applied AI and Workforce Transformation.
